The Tecnocampus Mataró-Maresme Foundation leads an international educational innovation project, “Digital Toolbox for Innovation in Nursing Education (I-BOX)”, which has the support of the European Union and aims to develop a virtual open access space, where students, teachers and professionals in the field of nursing will be able to generate debates at an international level that facilitate solving doubts, contribute new perspectives in the knowledge of the subject and recommendations of good practices and acquire and consolidate knowledge in a practical way.

The I-BOX project arose at the initiative of professors Esther Cabrera and Carolina Chabrera, from the Higher School of Health Sciences of Tecnocampus, and will be developed over three years with the collaboration of the University of Maribor (Slovenia), UMIT (Austria), the University of Turku (Finland) and the University of Sechenov (Russia).

On November 5 and 6, 2019, the first working meeting was held at the Tecnocampus (in the photograph), in which representatives of all the universities participating in the project participated and the lines of action were defined for the next months. Once the project has progressed with the design and creation of the platform, which will include videos, podcasts and infographics, it is planned to carry out a learning seminar in which students from Tecnocampus and other collaborating universities will be able to participate.

The project was presented to the 2019 Erasmus + call, in the line KA203 Strategic Partnerships for higher education, which aims to support the development, transfer or implementation of innovative practices and the execution of joint initiatives to promote cooperation, learning between equals and the exchange of experiences at European level.

The European national agency, the Spanish Service for the Internationalization of Education (SEPIE), selected along with 30 more projects that have received European funding.
